Whenever I so much as see a needle I start panicking and often faint. I am worried that this will be problematic later in life if I am ever involved in an accident, require a blood test, or simply need to go to a hospital, so I would like to know what type of therapy will work best to cure me of my phobia. Well, I wouldn’t exactly call it a phobia, but since I can remember, I’ve always been extremely sensitive when others touched their eyes.. I get squeamish, it’s gross, disgusting, a finger touching an eye ball- I can’t stand it.

Unforteuntly this problem has been a burden for me. I’m 17 years old and have been wearing glasses for years.. I recently discovered I will need braces. To counter this, I’d like to finally get contacts, but I still have this fear. I mean, just typing about eyes gets me a bit freaked.

Before I get contacts, do any of you have a strategy I can use to mentally prepare myself for placing contacts in my eyes?

This all started about 4+ years ago when i had a sleepover at my friends house and had a anxiety attack over there and had to come home.
