So, for example, if you are afraid of spiders, the therapist will work to get you closer and closer to spiders, first a picture of a spider, then a model of a spider, then a spider on television, then a spider in a glass tank, etc. In each case the fear is progressively diminished. 

So if you have fears of taking tests, you start by setting a time limit with practice questions. Then you take practice tests. Then (if you can) you get a bunch of fellow students together to take a pre-test at your home, with a timer. 

You just get closer and closer to test conditions. Eventually the test will feel not very different from the practice conditions.</description>
