It’s called being human. Everybody has atleast a mild fear of the unknown. If somebody tells you they aren’t afraid to die they are full of ****.
It’s called Xenophobia.
Some people are going to say xenophobia. That’s not necessarily correct, because xenophobia is the irrational fear of the unknown. Sometimes, fear of the unknown is a very important adjustment mechanism.
It’s very possible that it indicates an adjustment disorder, which is common for people in new places and meeting new people (especially with college students).
