I am a big guy and feel stupid to say that I am afraid of needles, but I am truly terrified and no one seems to understand my problem. It has caused me to neglect medical treatment for years now. Far too often I have been told to “just get over it”; but I can’t seem to. I feel like telling me to get over my phobia is like telling a manic depressant to “just get over it”.
